Shuo (Luna) Yang earned her Ph.D. in strategic management from Kent State University. In the fall of 2022, she joined Pennsylvania State University, Brandywine, as an Assistant Professor of Business and Economics. Her research focuses on the role of history in international business, particularly in understanding the historical nuances of firms’ overseas investments and divestments. She is currently developing a proprietary database on monetary infrastructure in developing regions by collecting data and historical evidence.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Yang consults for small to mid-size firms and entrepreneurs, and serves as a start-up consulting coach at Penn State’s LaunchBox Entrepreneurship Center. An active member of the Strategic Management Society, she was the Graduate Student Ambassador for the Research Methods Community from 2021 to 2022. She has also organized and moderated panel discussions and paper development workshops at the Academy of International Business and the Academy of Management.
