Meet The Speakers:
Peter Zemsky is the Eli Lilly Chaired Professor of Strategy and Innovation at INSEAD where he served as Deputy Dean/Dean of Innovation from 2013 to 2023. He has led all major departments at the school including the flagship MBA programme, executive education, fundraising, and faculty & research. He directs a popular online course on strategy for digital disruption and another on enhancing the skills of Chief Strategy Officers.
A pioneer in educational technology, Professor Zemsky has led the development of a wide range of EdTech innovations including immersive VR case studies, customized online programs for global corporations, and most recently a virtual strategy assistant utilizing generative AI.
In 2024 he is visiting Harvard Kennedy School as a Research Fellow looking at the role of government in better aligning AI and tech innovations from the private sector with overall social value creation. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Maciej Workiewicz is an Associate Professor of Management at ESSEC, where he teaches Strategy in the Age of AI and Strategic Management courses in the school’s Master in Management, MBA, and Executive programs, as well as strategy, organization theory, computational modeling, and machine learning in the school’s doctoral program. In his research, he focuses on how organizational structure influences the way companies adapt to industry change and innovate and the role AI plays in strategic decision making. His research has been published in the Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Organization Design, and the Journal of Management Inquiry. Before joining ESSEC in 2016, he received his MBA from INSEAD and later earned a PhD in Management (Strategy) from the same school.
Tom Collopy has over 40 years of experience in business and technical roles, including senior positions at large corporations and startups. In the last eight years, he has focused on educating entrepreneurs and advising startup founders. He authored “LAUNCHED,” a guide for startup founders using ChatGPT, and several WISE Guides for building startups.
Currently, Tom advises multiple startups, serves on the board of a startup, is a Professor of the Practice at UNC Chapel Hill, and occasionally lectures at NC State University. He also runs Unbiased Insights and is the acting CTO of Aggios.com. Recently, he joined the Founding Advisory Board of Carry Venture Capital and consults for the i-Cubed program at Duke Clinical Research Institute.
Tom is active in the entrepreneurial community, volunteering with organizations like NC IDEA and speaking at various accelerators and events. Between 2016 and 2020, he advised over 50 early-stage startups.
Before 2016, Tom held key positions at Securus, Qualcomm, and IBM, including co-founding the Qualcomm Processor Division and Xcella, a semiconductor startup acquired by Qualcomm. His career began at IBM, where he worked on advanced e-beam lithography tools.
Kevin Bryan is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Toronto, the Chief Economist of the Creative Destruction Lab Toronto, a former visiting professor at Duke Fuqua and the Universite Cheikh Anta Diop – Dakar, and the cofounder of the NBER Innovation Boot Camp.
