Timo Santalainen is Founder and President of STRATNET, a Geneva-based network of strategists, and Adjunct Professor at Aalto University, Lappeenranta Technical University and Finnish University of Defence. He has created his proficiency in strategizing by combining experience in academia, business and consulting (ABC). His major areas of professional interest are strategic thinking and transformation, open strategizing, sustainability strategies and viability advantage. Dr. Santalainen has held senior expert and executive positions in retailing, financial services and world sports organizations. He has been an educator and researcher at several universities in USA and Europe, and strategy advisor for numerous businesses and parastatal organizations throughout the world. He is author or co-author of 12 books (latest “Rethinking Strategy”, in 2016), several chapters in books (latest on “Sustainable Strategizing for Viability Advantage”, in 2019) and multiple articles in international journals. He is Founding Member of Strategic Management Society and Former Chair of Strategy Practice IG. In 2019 he was elected Honorary Member of Strategic Management Society-Finland.
