Annette L. Ranft (Ph.D., University of North Carolina) is the Jim Moran Associate Professor and Department Chair of Management at Florida State University. She previously held appointments at Wake Forest University and West Virginia University. Annette Ranft has been an active contributor in SMS as a presenter, reviewer, discussant and session chair since 1998. She has been a member of the Conference Best Paper Selection Committee and is the current chair of the Strategy Process Interest Group. She is also actively involved in the BPS division of the Academy of Management. Her research interests are primarily in the areas of knowledge management and corporate strategy, particularly in the contexts of international expansion and acquisitions. She won the BPS Free Press Outstanding Dissertation Award for her work examining knowledge preservation and transfer in acquisitions. Her research has been published in such journals as Organization Science, the Journal of International Business Studies, and the Journal of Management. Annette Ranft has a MS from Georgia Tech and a BS in mathematics from Appalachian State University.
