Nagalakshmi Damaraju is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at the School of Business and Economics, Sonoma State University, USA. Prior to this, she served at the Indian School of Business as an Assistant Professor in the Strategy area. Her research interests include real options theory, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, CEO and top management phenomena, and entrepreneurship. Her research is targeted at journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal etc., and her work has been published in the Strategic Management Journal, European Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, among others. She presents routinely at the Academy of Management and also at the Strategic Management Society conferences. She is a member of Entrepreneurship and Strategy Interest group at the SMS and served as a global representative from South East Asian region in the BPS division of the academy. She teaches courses on the competitive and corporate strategies of a firm, examining issues central to its long- and short-term competitive position. She was also a resource faculty for strategic management for the Goldman Sachs 10000 women entrepreneurs program in India and has been involved in training over 650 women entrepreneurs since 2008.
