Daniel Forbes is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. He joined Minnesota in 2000 upon completing a Ph.D. from the NYU Stern School of Business. Since then, he has taught courses on strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation to students in the undergraduate, MBA, doctoral, and executive education programs at the Carlson School. His research focuses on how people make decisions related to creating, managing, and financing new ventures. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and the Journal of Business Venturing, among other outlets. He also serves on several editorial boards and as a Senior Editor for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Exchange. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the private and nonprofit sectors and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago.
