George Shinkle is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at the Australian School of Business (ASB). He joined the ASB after successful careers in industry and business consulting. He is known for his ability to bring real-world context into the classroom and into his research. George Shinkle holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.B.A., and a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University. His research targets the nexus between strategic management and organization theory - encompassing economic institutional theory, aspirations (organisational goal-setting), and strategy in turbulent environments. His research has been published in the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of World Business, and the Journal of Management. George Shinkle’s research on strategic goal-setting is supported by a three-year grant from the Australian Research Council.
